Neurodiversity affirming care honors the natural neurological diversity that occurs in humans. We utilize a strengths based approach to supporting clients and focus on supporting their goals rather than setting goals based on neurotypical standards. Neurodiversity affirming care honors assent, builds on strengths, presumes competence, and celebrates neurodiversity.
Our therapists either hold or are pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field such as education or psychology. They receive comprehensive training from our Clinical Director before working with clients to ensure a solid understanding of neurodiversity affirming practices and behavioral science. Therapists are supervised weekly by our Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), who hold a master’s degree and have completed 2000 hours of fieldwork. Our BCBAs also receive initial and ongoing training to maintain high standards of compassionate care. All staff members participate in continuous professional development to enhance our service quality.
We work with families to identify a schedule that works best for them. Hour recommendations are based on family interest/availability, clients comfortability, assessments and goals identified, and environments in which support is needed. We do not have an hour minimum, but aim to meet the individual needs of each client.
